Tired of rotten produce and dirty stores

Posted 12-03-2008 at 03:06 PM by roz07

Hello to Matteson residents - is it just me - have you noticed that our local grocery stores, Dominicks and Jewels does not have quality produce in comparison to the stores in Tinley and Orland. Additionally, the stores are dirty, floors need to be mopped, shelves dusted and walls cleaned. Our dollar spends the same - why is the service different? And what can we do about it?

want to bring filipino out to visit me

Posted 12-03-2008 at 09:28 AM by hawkeye372

I live in Florida and have met a filipino on board ship. I want to try and get her to come for a visit. I have started emailing the manila embassy and looking into flights from the Philippines to Florida. So far i have been in luck in the flights but not from the embassy.

Does anyone know the process on how long something like this takes?

My husband says my idea of heaven might be "always Christmas." Indeed, there is a local Christmas store which was named that before they changed their name to something less memorable...which I can't remember now! So needless to say...I kinda like the Christmas season.

Oh sure, Christmas has it's downside and negatives with the oft mentioned commercialization, the crowds, the traffic, disappointments, dashed expectations, possible family conflicts, potential loneliness,...

The Crash Effect

Posted 12-02-2008 at 06:21 PM by MarqueseGilmore

All my life I've sat back and observed details of how people interact with others. As a child my mother would take me grocery shopping with her and I noticed how the person working behind the deli counter handed my mother her order or how the cashier handed her back her change. It was always like people were afraid to be friendly or people just didn't want to be friendly. I work at a college and I'm one the newest employees. I made it a habit to say hello with a smile to everyone of my colleagues...
