On Friday, 12/19/08, my adult son's car was stolen from W. 5th. Could you please keep your eyes open for a 1988 White Dodge Caravan (beige interior)? It has 2 stickers on the back of the car, top sticker is black and bottom sticker is red. Inside the car was a drum set, amp, and bass guitar. He works 6 days a week in addition to drumming, and the car and instruments were important. A REWARD...

I've decided to retire on Feb. 1. I'll stay at work 3 days a week for something to do.

After looking at my finances (incoming and outgoing), I'll be ahead of the game. My monthly income will be higher than wen I was working a lot of overtime at the last hotel.

Might as well take retirement as long as I can afford it and enjoy life.

12/30/08: I gave my notice at work today and the next month will be the longest I'll have put in.

I am sometimes asked why many of the Veterans in our VFW, American Legion or AMVETS post do so much volunteerism in the American Red Cross, or other local community institutions.

My reply is pretty much the same each time depending of course on the reason being asked. But it comes down to this; Uncle Sam spent many thousands of dollars training us and we are among the most able and best trained in any given community in America to be the ones to pitch-in and help out when the going...
