Today I spent $5 of the little that I had, about $40 when I started out this morning, to buy a bus pass so that I could make it to a job interview of sorts (a couple of days ago I found an old Canadian prepaid card that had $25 on it which added to the money I had available and allowed me to have left over what I had this morning despite not working for almost a week).

I say of sorts because I had to first get there, fill out an application, and be interviewed between noon and 3:00...

Ice Damming can be a major problem in Ohio.

What a beautiful time of year, if of course you enjoy frigid weather and below freezing temperatures. If you are experiencing a large amount of ice freezing at the base of your roof and covering your gutters entirely you may want to be just the bit concerned. Roofs that have poor insulation and ventilation are more likely to suffer from ice damming problems because the attics will be hotter. A lack of insulation will allow a lot of heat loss from the house into the attic. If...

You know the Lotto theme of ‘you can’t win if you don’t play’ – that was always a compelling theme to me. I didn’t jump and buy tickets every time I heard it, but it was obviously true. The thought of winning the big jackpot….
