The relevance of existence

Posted 02-12-2009 at 06:59 AM by zthatzmanz28

Seems like it was just the other day I had a career. A job that was one of those everyone tells you to look for--GET YOURSELF A JOB YOU LOVE DOING WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY, THAT'S A JOB THAT WILL GET YOU UP IN THE MORNING--that's what I had.
Finally after 25 years of wondering (yes it was my choice) I decided to join the rest of the people and establish roots in my home state.
BUT--it was so much easier before when all I did was move on to another job, another activity, or another city....

We have had great weather for almost a week now. It was warm enough for shorts and washing cars this past weekend. On Monday I took the boat out on the river for a short run.

Tuesday was so nice that I regretted having to work. That night my fishing buddy and I made plans to go fishing on Wednesday. We knew we were unlikely to catch any fish, but we wanted to check the water, and start to distance ourselves from...

The unusual "cold" continues on the Crystal Coast

Posted 02-12-2009 at 05:49 AM by dsobotta

I like to think of the Crystal Coast as a refuge from ice, snow, and cold temperatures. This year has challenged that theory. We saw one half inch of snow on Inauguration Day, and we have seen far colder weather than we have in the previous two winters.

We are in the first week of February again experiencing some cold temperatures. This morning, February 5, when I got up our temperature here on the White Oak River...

...And I've got Termites!

Posted 02-11-2009 at 08:07 PM by Drouzin

So I go to Virginia to visit my sister for about 2 weeks. I borrowed SIL's luggage and loaded up one bag with muffalattas, (a really stinky, yet delicious sandwich), and king cake; naturally that was the bag the airline lost. When I got the bag back it took a couple of days for the smell to go away.

The first week there was snow, (yea!), and I went sledding for the first time in my life. Apparently you are not supposed to put your foot down flat to stop. I learned that when I...

Visit/Dream

Posted 02-11-2009 at 09:07 AM by East Coast Wanderer
Updated 02-11-2009 at 11:34 AM by East Coast Wanderer

Last night I had a dream that I can't get out of my head. Recently I made the decision to completely retire. Even though I can afford it, I still wasn't sure it was the right decision.

The dream I had was that I was visiting a small town in my home State that I always enjoyed. I was out for a walk and feeling happy when an older man walked by and told me everything would be alright. I didn't recognize him by his features but instintively regonized him as a deceased uncle whose opinion...
Can't wait to get on the road again.
