Maybe I am nearsighted,
I always had trouble
seeing you in the distance.
At least I thought
you were so far away,
until I awoke from this lucid dream,
a nightmare and I knew that,

The opaque glass
that was my world

Spring is upon us and Lake Norman is as beautiful as ever. The water is warming with every passing weekend. Soon our lake will be filled with boaters and watercraft of all sizes.

This summer, make sure your boat is safe and “sea worthy”. It only takes a few minutes to ensure your vessel is safe and running at tip top shape. There are numerous marinas on Lake Norman that will be happy to assist with any boating issues you encounter.

Baseball

Baseball has long been the nations past time. When the dogwoods bloom in early April, thoughts turn to the ballpark. Baseball, hotdogs a cold beer or coke, and maybe a foul ball come your way.

What makes baseball so much better than other sports? Many will say it’s the difficulty or hitting the breaking ball, others may say it’s the unlimited stats. I feel that baseball is so great because it is the ultimate team sport.

Very few sports or activities require the unification...

Sorry, but no can do. My problem isn't with the workers, it is with the management of both Knife River Corp and Deatley Crushing and the Idaho County Commissioners who aren't doing their job properly. I didn't say we don't have ANY quiet...I said that we only get from midnight to about 4:30 a.m. of quiet time. That is a fact. This is our health and well being and I will stand by that...PERIOD. Now this was a major event that put me in a form of shock.I had been going out to the yard for one reason or another and just enjoying the outdoors in the evenings, some point just after things got strange. A neighbor that lived a quarter mile to my west came for a visit and mentioned he would be having a bonfire in his yard. That night when I went out to my yard I looked in the direction where his property would be and what I saw over the tree-line started out seeming like a smoke from a fire but...
