Increase of living sky rocketed on top of how the economy was doing. People were hesitant on renting out their home to these people so more money had to be put down and rules were far beyond what they were at one time. Crime also skyrocketed. Drugs were coming in and out and eventually the state issued Allegany County a new police task force on top of the sheriffs department, C3I and police department we already had. My parents noticed there more police logs in the paper per day then employment...

It was never like this before. As I continued to talk with my husband we decided that once we had children we would have to leave Cumberland for them to have a proper education. At the same time we knew that it would be harder for us to have children and continue to live in the same environment. We knew that if we did we would be stuck in this town forever. I confided in my girlfriends about our concern and they agreed that they would also leave if they could get out. My husband and I worked more...

Cumberland is very beautiful and it was more beautiful back then. Just because its historic and it’s pretty doesn’t mean that you should move there. Do your research and you’ll find out that it’s not all cracked up to be what it is. It’s just a matter of time when there are no natives living there besides the trash that is moving in now. I love Cumberland, I really do but it’s not practical and it’s not a way to live. I have included websites that you really to look at before considering...
