Austin Creatives

Posted 07-23-2009 at 12:42 PM by westerner1

I'm a New York Graphic Designer who is interested in moving to Austin. Does anyone know of any recruiting agencies or job resources in Austin? Monster and Craigslist don't seem to cut it these days.

Considering moving the family to Bald Knob, Arkansas

Posted 07-22-2009 at 01:24 PM by swpoole

My family and I currently live in San Antonio, TX. Although most of our family and friends live here, and we enjoy the city, we are ready to change our lifestyle. My father owns land in Bald Knob, Arkansas, and has offered to sign over part of it to us, at no cost, so we could build a house. We recently visited the Greers Ferry area and fell in love with the natural beauty. We would love to live in a slower paced, more natural area with lakes, rivers, natural springs, fishing, and camping. Since...

Back to the USA; Vermont, Here We Come!

Posted 07-22-2009 at 03:23 AM by LookinForMayberry

Canada's Old Quebec and Montreal were nice, but I'm ready for "parleying" some good old time English! Never again will I look in wonder at a non-English speaking visitor to the USA. Those folks need help, I'm there! I cannot believe how incredibly isolated I've felt since being in Quebec, and I have a smattering of French.

I have to say in general that the people of the province were very kind and helpful, helping us negotiate our poor language skills where ever they could....

My 5 year old daughter mauled and attack by a akita!

Posted 07-21-2009 at 09:22 PM by mother738 (Akita Dog attack!)

We can't do anything, just drop it, do not file charges, is what we heard from our law enforcement, two days after my daughter was attacked by an akita dog.
My daughter got 134 stitches and is scared for the rest of her life, all because she wanted to give a dog a hug and kiss!
This akita has a history, but owner is relayed to city council man who is friends with mayor!
My concern is that this akita dog may kill the next child he gets a hold of.
I think I need a lawer!
