Volatility Continues in the Market Place

Posted 07-30-2009 at 08:08 AM by VictorBurek

The theme of the week continues. Mortgage backed securities were again unable to hold onto early morning gains following a less than expected Durable Goods orders report. A very disappointing Treasury auction is to blame for the turnaround which moved MBS much lower on the day and sparked reprices for the worse from most lenders; however, by day’s end MBS did crawl their way back closing at the same level at which they opened. This late day rebound allowed some lenders to reprice for the better...

Time to Go

Posted 07-30-2009 at 04:20 AM by LookinForMayberry

It's my fault, not theirs. They cannot see it, and I am a failure at presenting what I see without being a rabid witch. No wonder I so well identify with the abandoned shelter dogs. Perhaps I, too, should be put down.

The Roller Coaster Continues as Rates Marginally Improve

Posted 07-28-2009 at 04:53 PM by VictorBurek

After opening to the downside yesterday, mortgage backed securities fought back recapturing most of the early morning losses. Some lenders did reprice for the better as the improvements held through close. The volume was well below average indicating that the market is waiting for direction. Leading the way will be the stock market which will influence the treasury market which will lead the MBS market. So far this morning, stock market futures are pointing to a lower open, the benchmark 10 year...
