Is there is any correlation between the percent of people who are late on their mortgage payments and the amount of calories consumed?
When a homeowner has problems making their mortgage payment at the end of a month, how short are they? Do they not have any money for the payment? Or is the struggling homeowner coming up just a few hundred short. With a mortgage payment of $1000, for example, that might only be $100-300.

Monthly private mortgage insurance really stinks! Or does it? If you are a highly qualified home buyer, you may be able to take advantage of private mortgage insurance. That ability will save you an additional 10 to15% less for the down payment, of the normally required 20%.

How to Calculate Your Mortgage Payment

I've found there is a lot of confusion when using online mortgage calculators to try and estimate payments when buying a home. Most calculators just give principal & interest, and there is good reason, but it's nice to have the big picture when trying to estimate payments - as these days it is more common to have an escrow account where property taxes/homeowners insurance is paid along with the principal & interest portion of the mortgage payment. Plus even if you don't pay those items...
