Tonight as the sun was setting I took my daily walk around the block and felt so incredibly blessed.

The sun was setting behind the horizon, the outline of the mountains was visible. The air was warm but comfortably so. I could see the lights of what seemed like San Diego off in the distance.

People were out walking in the neighborhood, watering their bushes by hand. Friendly folks who all were either responsive to my hi or who said hi to me.

After holding steady near the top of the current trading range, mortgage backed securities came under selling pressure yesterday afternoon. Several lenders did reprice for the worse as the losses held to close. No economic data drove the price declines so it appears that the added supply of treasuries that will be auctioned this week is the main cause. Yesterday afternoon while walking Bigun through another residential neighborhood near the fairgrounds where we are camped, my DH repeated this comment for the third time.

He's NEVER made this comment, through over a year of traveling the country, so it's DEFINITELY noteworthy.

It's a great town. I am sure it has its problems, but for "down home," wholesome goodness, it is WAY ahead of any place we've been, so far. The homes are neat and clean, and NOT ostentatious...

Despite some fine craftsmanship on behalf of the folks at places like the Centers for Disease Control and the World Health Organization in providing what is thought to be a most effective flu vaccine this year, it appears that all their efforts may not be enough.
