Mortgage Rates Continue to Hold at Low’s of the Year, FHA Tightening

Mortgage rates held steady yesterday as mortgage backed securities traded in a narrow range all day but did close in the red. There were no reports of lenders repricing for the worse as the losses had occurred prior to the release of rate sheets. Despite the lower open, lenders were offering the best rates of the year as a few lenders were offering 4.75% as par for a 30 year fixed rate mortgage.

Thought of moving to maine need help/opinions

So after reading everyone else posts about whether or not moving to portland/surrounding areas would be a good idea, i have decided to create an account to try and find out whether it would be a good idea. So my backstory is that my girlfriend and I along with our recently born little girl (shes 2 months) were thinking of both doing a work transfer and moving to maine. Also with us would be a good friend of ours who is going back to school but also has a lot of carpentry and gen. construction experience....

More Family Recollections.....My Nana

Yesterday I added "Recollections"
to my blog....it was based on my mother's memories about her late father. He died when she was still a young child.

Today I was still reflecting on my family history and that led me to a childhood memory I had about my Nana. The trigger to those memories was that I recalled how she used to confuse the words for incinerate and insinuate....and ask me to go out and "insinuate the trash".

Mortgage Rates Hold Steady

All U.S. markets were closed yesterday in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. day. The rate sheets that were released by lenders were the same as Friday’s.

We have no economic data today; however, Citigroup announced third quarter results matching expectations of a .33 cent loss per share but missing on total revenue. In total, Citigroup lost $7.6billion mainly due to a pretax charge of $8billion when they repaid bailout funds.
