Pressure Continues on Mortgage Rates

Mortgage rates held steady yesterday morning and afternoon despite positive economic news and a so so auction of 5 year treasury notes. Later in the afternoon, the stock market which was posting positive gains all day changed course and closed lower with the Dow closing under 10,000 for the first time since February. As stocks sold off, we did see some money flow back into bonds which kept mortgage backed securities unchanged on the day. There were no reports of lenders repricing for the better...

Going 'home home'

Today I found out that my mom wasn't being released from the hospital today... despite the fact that it's my dad's birthday. She's supposed to be released tomorrow, for sure. The only reason for her hold back was because they needed to set up an at-home nursing organization to give her an IV-antibiotic and someone to dry-pack her wound. Well, thanks to the health care system we are faced with, she will only get someone to come once per day, which isn't enough for appropriate healing. Therefore,...

Another good restaurant in Rock Hill

Tried out the Sahara Mediterranean Restaurant and Cafe, and like it so much we went back the next weekend. 1014 India Hook, Rock Hill, where Dewitt's used to be. Really liked the Adana Kabobs, and the home made hummus was excellent. Locally owned and operated, not a chain!
