Rates Rally after Wednesday’s Move Higher but Lenders Do Not Pass Along the Gains

The prices of mortgage backed securities rallied yesterday following Wednesday’s sell off. The stock market opened much higher but as the day progressed it moved off its highs allowing money to flow back into the rates market. As the price gains held through close, all lenders did reprice better bring consumer borrowing costs close to the all time lows set on Wednesday morning.

Our thin economic calendar ends today with only one scheduled release…Monthly Wholesale Trade....
