Early morning weakness in the stock market allowed mortgage backed securities to open higher in price Tuesday morning recapturing most of the losses from the prior day. As the day progressed, stocks rallied from the over 100 point loss in the morning to close in the green. This pulled money away from MBS to fund the rally forcing lenders to reprice for the worse increasing consumer borrowing costs by .125 in discount.
