Kudos to Working Parents, Volunteers, & Caregivers

I've been back to work for four weeks, now, and last weekend was the first that I actually had time to relax. I had things to do, but nothing that absolutely HAD TO BE DONE. It was so nice to take my time and do things as I felt like it.

It made me think about all the people that go from demanding home lives to demanding work, and then go home to more demands. That made me think of the volunteering I wanted to do, and still haven't figured out how to fit that into the time that remains....

Consumer Borrowing Costs Improve as Range Holds

Mortgage rates ended last week on a two day losing streak. The best rates of the week were seen on Wednesday following the release of the FOMC statement. On Friday, mortgage backed securities touched the bottom end of the range which we have used to make lock/float recommendations following the strategy of lock the price highs, float the lows. If you floated over the weekend, you were rewarded this morning with marginally improved rate sheets.

It's one thing to go out to a Chinese restaurant and go through the buffet line and get about 25 things to eat and savor. It's another when the waiter or waitress drops off a little item wrapped in a small transparent wrapper. What is it about that little item?

Ah, yes. The fortune cookie. Open up said wrapping and break the vanilla-tasting bit of hardness and see what's inside. I'll eat the cookie momentarily, but I'm dying to see what the little piece of paper...
