Yet Another Scapegoat for Our Choices Made

Posted 10-10-2010 at 08:45 AM by LookinForMayberry

One day, probably not too far in the future (I hope) we will wake up, and this last century will be known as the time of Blaming. We will have discovered that we cannot solve our problems until we take responsibility for them, and then more than half the solution will be achieved.

For now, it seems we've discovered yet one more group outside ourselves to vilify, according to this article in the New York Times:

Weighing In - October 10th

Posted 10-10-2010 at 07:54 AM by LookinForMayberry

Today: 146.9
Chg: 0
To Date: -4.7

Comment: This is the second week that I've weighed less during the week, and than gained on Saturday. I guess Saturday's are rough on my diet, and I need to be more careful, or change my weigh in days to Wednesday!

How some EA woman can fall prey to the hood...

Posted 10-09-2010 at 10:46 AM by Time and Space

We've all seen the following...

Your driving through, or on the edge of the 'rough' side of town or city...and through your window...you observe a white gal, who other wise looks like she could be from the Brady Bunch family...middle class and clean...

And your thinking...'Ok, what is she doing here?'...
But upon closer examination, she looks comfortable and at ease with her enviornment and the people she's around...

I'm noticing more and more of this...

What I observed in the 'Hood' this morning...

My definition of 'hood' is simply a socia-economic area of town, where most earned incomes are below $30,000, and where there's a higher percentage of government assisted citizens, living in homes, food stamps section 8 ect ect...regardless of ethnic make-up...

These conditions are wide spread across the nation...but in the 'hood'...you simply have a higher concentration of people living under the above terms...where as in Kansas...you may have the same percentage of people as described...

Pictures Of A Road Trip Are All In My Mind

Posted 10-09-2010 at 08:48 AM by case44 (Welcome To Case's Column)

Someone told me, once upon a time, that I had a photographic memory. I've got one, alright. The fact that I have an ability to picture things as I've seen them has been a staple of the many pockets of my memory bank down through the years.

And that scenario will come into play once again when I take to the road in a few short days. This will be in the form of a vacation and not some short road trip. It's amazing what I think about, even in fleeting moments, ...
