Do you really need hurricane insurance in Hawaii?

Hurricane Insurance - FEMA's Incorrect Classification of Hawaii
A base homeowner's policy insures your home in the event of fire and a list of perils described as the “extended coverage endorsement”. Extended coverage covers in the event of windstorm, hail, explosion, civil commotion, etc. Almost all extended coverage endorsements will include coverage for hurricanes, unless, the home is in a hurricane-prone area.

Often, I have noticed that many who utilize emotional appeals to criticize libertarianism will often allude to necessary government services like police, fire departments, courts, etc. and ask sarcastically if I support those institutions too because they are, in fact, governmental institutions and are collectively funded by taxpayers.

Allow me to break down the difference between libertarianism and anarchism. Essentially, libertarianism...

I learned VERY early in my life that I needed to be pretty careful to protect myself and learn as much about the people around me as I could. People watching was a necessity, but it didn't take long for me to realize that I didn't really understand them from just watching. What people did just didn't make sense to me. That's how I started reading.

I've been reading ever since. People still don't make sense to me, but the worlds I've gained from reading has made my confusion about people...

The first "Summer" weekend...

Here in the PNW, we've been experiencing mostly grey skies with rain, and temperatures in the 50s-60s, so this sunny weekend in the low 70s has everyone out in their shorts and flipflops, riding bikes, pushing lawn mowers, or walking the trails.

DH and I spent Saturday morning looking at ceiling fans and light fixtures for our newly enclosed deck -- now sun room. Just back from a four day fishing trip in Eastern WA, with an eviction facing him for the foreclosure he bought just before...
