Get Present and Deal with the Situation NOW

Posted 06-09-2011 at 10:06 PM by LookinForMayberry

My job is pretty demanding -- whose job isn't these days? I am guessing most people would love to have my job, or any job. I'm not complaining. In fact, if I could wish for one thing, it would be that people stop complaining. If a situation can be changed, work for the change, but don't complain along the way. Yes, it might be uncomfortable, but why add to the discomfort by whining?

Just get present, I tell the folks, and deal with what needs to be done right now. Let the projected...

Here's A Way To Get A Discount: Get The Order Wrong

Posted 06-09-2011 at 06:12 PM by case44 (Welcome To Case's Column)
Updated 06-09-2011 at 06:26 PM by case44

In a blog I did long, long ago, I discussed the travails of fast food line waiting and the order takers not listening to me when I order my meal. Now, we take the same basic idea to a sit-down restaurant, but this time, something happens after I was sure the order was made.

You see, this afternoon, I celebrated the start to my weekend at a local Cracker Barrel, and the waitress for today took my order and everything seemed just fine. Well, everything except the...

The LEXpert Tours 2 Cool, Older Neighborhoods for Under $200k

Posted 06-08-2011 at 01:43 PM by LEXpert (Putting the Real in Real Estate)

Well, I did a video tour of two of my favorite older spots......Meadowthorpe and Pensacola Park. Both of these neighborhoods give you that vibe that old neighborhood folk want where it still feels like an old neighborhood. Not one of those spots where you can find a cool older house, but next door is an 8-plex built in the 1960's

In Lexington, it can be hard to find that combination of an older neighborhood, in a decent part of town, with acceptable schools, and stay under $200k....

Sleeping

Posted 06-08-2011 at 03:27 AM by woodworkingmenace (History)

I find that I am sleeping more and more these days...
Ever since my last work out at the YMCA, I sleep during the day a lot (4-7 hours at times!), then, take my sleep meds so I can sleep at night (as usual).

Since my heart is enlarged, (twice the average fist, and, your heart is only as 'big' as the average fist!), and I know its weak... And, no amount of exercise is going to 'put it back into shape'... So, the only thing I am 'trying' to do, is to lose the fat, so that the pall-bearers,...
