Posted 02-03-2012 at 07:52 PM by LookinForMayberry

I continue to be flummoxed about how so many people can think that their religious beliefs have a place in politics. What we believe controls what we practice in our lives. Our politics control our society. Society is not an extension of ourselves. It is the community we live in and contribute to, based on our beliefs.

We do not get to dictate what others believe.

We all get ONE vote. If two people in a room vote differently, there's no progress. If they can sit down...

Who could ask for anything more? 8)

As it turns out we have no significant aspects, and what we have in the way of insignificant ones either cannot be measured, or measuring would be cost more than the gain from the knowing. (It appears our Environmental Management System is going to be mostly just increasing employee awareness, and staying informed of any new developments.)...

Sometimes in your life, you have things happen to you and, occasionally, something will get you when you least expect it but don't know how it happened. That is the experience I am facing with a dead tooth on the lower bridge of my very handsome mouth. The problem is, I'm not sure how it happened or what caused it. I've been to see my dentist this morning and he referred me to a specialist to take care of the aforementioned dead tooth. That's right, sports fans. I've...

Controlling our Birth Rates

Posted 02-03-2012 at 09:09 AM by LookinForMayberry

It infuriates me that because our world cultures are built on the concept of "go forth and multiply" -- not for any spiritual aspect, though that's how it was delivered to the Israelites who passed it on to Christians, but for the pure, simple reason of "more people, greater ability to dominate and exploit." It is not our obligation or right to overpopulate. It is irresponsible and stupid.

Now here we are, a planet dying from our wastes because our ecosystems cannot...

Death

Posted 02-03-2012 at 09:01 AM by woodworkingmenace (History)

Well, everyone went out the front door and started looking and wondering, (we can see the house on fire from my house), and after the initial excitement, they all came back in, and resumed normall conversation.

Though, they did periodically...
