Sunday School - February 12, 2012

Posted 02-12-2012 at 07:01 AM by Albert Finch (How Do I Advance My Spiritual Life?)

Affirmation: I am no accident going somewhere to happen. My life isn't just a loose web of events and circumstances. God has specific plans for me.

To be too busy with God's work to commune with God, to be busy with doing church work without taking time to talk to God about His work, is the highway to backlsliding. - E. M. Bounds

We must go on to maturity. We must set our vision on the purpose (our destiny) for which we have been made a new creation. - Rick Joyner...

Squeak, squeak, Moooaaaannnn.

Posted 02-11-2012 at 07:24 AM by LookinForMayberry

Bigun LOVES his squeaky toy. When both of us are too absorbed in our own pursuits and he wants to play, he'll eventually find the squeaky toy. He gives it a few fast chomps in rapid succession, making it squeal more than squeak, and then he settles down for a nice slow munch, soft squeak, and then moans a low, drawn out, satisfied moan.

It's how we ended our Friday night.

He is such an amusing dog.

This winter season has become one where I'm actually going to be disappointed if it snows before spring. Really. I'm pulling for us to go the entire winter without a single snowflake in my hometown. Usually, my area gets one to two snow events each season. Tonight and tomorrow night, however, will offer the lowest lows, by far, for this entire winter. Lows are expected to be around 25 to 28.

Seems like the Abominable Snowman decided to shed his fur and...

Your day with a school child

Posted 02-10-2012 at 02:55 PM by znljubica (School rules)

When your child starts school, the organization of the day for all family members must be changed to comply with his obligations. When he or she goes to school in the morning, the child must have breakfast. Meals should be varied, and dairy products are mandatory. If you are at home, prepare breakfast together, talk about everything but school. If you go to work early, prepare breakfast before, but in the afternoon, make sure that the child had eaten breakfast.
It is desirable to prepare...

Super PACs = Unrestricted PACs

Posted 02-10-2012 at 10:18 AM by LookinForMayberry

I'd like to understand how it came to pass that our legal system allows the creation of a Super PAC to get around the restrictions placed on a PAC. Somehow, I suspect knowing would depress me more than our environmental situation.

More than $79Mil were spent influencing our politics in 2011, according the the NY Times. So much for the democracy.

I am starting to think the anarchists are correct. We probably should just scrap the whole government, since it is no longer...
