=(

Posted 02-23-2012 at 05:34 AM by Pikantari

This week, though I know that I am a happy person, I feel the overwhelming sadness stalking my being. My mothers birthday is in four days and there is not a day that I do not miss her.

On Sunday I will visit both she and my fathers graves and give them flowers. Before that I will visit the church I was baptized in for their service.

This is the place where I gave my heart to my Lord and Savior, and I need to get back there...

Who Knows What Tomorrow Brings, but Today is Good

Posted 02-22-2012 at 12:11 PM by LookinForMayberry

I'm taking a break with Bigun at my side, and Ritz at my feet. Bigun and I returned from a short (two mile) walk earlier, and now the sun is breaking through the clouds. Soon it will be time to head to the dentist for my biannual cleaning, and then it's groceries and pharmacy, but right now it's time to relax. I don't know how many more Wednesdays I will have off, or whether I will have every day off soon, but whatever. Today, I am happy.

Eeeeyou -- Bigun, was that you???

Today is Sneakers birthday and we really did not do much. Well, I didn't do much. He had some errands he had to take care of early this morning and had an appointment with the Doctor this afternoon. After that we went into town and picked up a prescription then went to supper for his birthday. He chose a Chinese buffet that was new to us and it was quite delicious so supper was good and relaxing.

Otherwise the day has been uneventful except for putting away most of the dishes that...

Case's Vacation Preview: Coming Up Roses Again

That time is almost here again. In just a couple of weeks, the Casester will be hitting the road for another relaxing road trip. This go-around will find me heading for East Texas and the Piney Woods region once more. I'll plan to spend a little more time there than I did the last time around, but since I have a hankering to see some new things, I'm adding a new place I've never been to before.

I'll get to that addenda shortly. First off, I'll be making my way...

Greetings and Salutations

Posted 02-19-2012 at 07:32 PM by davidals

I have cancer. I've had it for a while now, and am fighting the good fight to get rid of it. At the ripe age of 42, it's not exactly what I was expecting at this point in my life. It's a $200,000 disease, though I have various kinds of insurance and cobras and medicaid or -care (whatever the one for people who aren't 65), disability (who can't pay me anything until May), and varied other arcane and obtuse varieties of social services. It has RUINED my credit. I'll be undergoing some stem cell transfusions,...
