Just Got the News Today, Oh Boy

Posted 03-14-2012 at 04:31 PM by LookinForMayberry

The party's over. I received my email this morning to let me know that I was being laid off. I cannot say I am sorry. My boss had developed into quite the micro-manager since he started this company, surprisingly so because he seems to have lost his ability to communicate clearly about his expectations or objectives.

So, I've bookmarked the link to the unemployment claims office, and sent my resume off to all my contacts. I am hoping to get my office emptied of my personal belongings...

Need to replace your HVAC system?

Posted 03-14-2012 at 02:40 PM by CptnRn

Need to replace your HVAC system? I attended a great continuing education seminar today on High Performance Residential HVAC and thought with the record heat wave, there are probably lots of systems failing around town and needing to be replaced. So I though I should share some information from the seminar with you.

Typical Residential Energy Use:
45% is for HVAC
12% is for lighting

Sooooo, You're Moving to Lexington Ky: Is now REALLY a good time to buy?

Posted 03-14-2012 at 11:23 AM by LEXpert (Putting the Real in Real Estate)

Yeah, it sure is. I remember throughout my career seeing other Realtors try to create urgency by saying "Now is the time to buy!" It was usually tied to a drop in the interest rates. I always thought my clients were smart enough to realize that interest rates dropping by an eighth of a point wasn't that big of a deal, so I never jumped on that wagon.

Today is different though. I am saying now is a great time to buy. Probably the best time in the past 15 years based on...

Info for considering new construction in Plainfield

Posted 03-14-2012 at 11:00 AM by chet everett

If the OP could give some details, like perhaps target price point and what there goals are (assume it would be a place to live becuase investment potential would be extremely limited...), it would make the taks of recommending a strategy far more successful. In truth the comments above about the general collapse of prices in the "boom" areas like Plainfield are accurate -- prices have receeded to such a low level that new construction does not make much sense.

I am also...

Jersey City Richard Street Light Rail

Posted 03-14-2012 at 09:44 AM by username1111

The gentrification has started, the gays are there, the white yuppies have arrived, and there is an art gallery coming this summer. Very ez commute to NYC by rail or ferry. Ocean Ave still has some ways to go but with the re-opening of Bayside park this area is moving forward.
