What makes Oak Park not particularly desirable...

I don't think that any sane person that read my post would see anything subtle or invisible that compares the schools in Oak Park to the worst of CPS. I worked in CPS. All but a relative handful of CPS schools are terrible and many of the ones with good test results still have to deal with an almost unbelievable headwind of bueracratic nonsense.
The schools in Oak Park are in the main pretty good. I have friends that work in them as well as friends and colleageus that have sent their kids...

I am a former teacher. I see a lot of my former colleagues, especially like this weekend now that school is out. We all agree that there is clearly some blame for problems of low job growth, flat wages and poor broad economic prospects on the lack of value that too many place in a top quality education. Pretty much all the friends that are still teaching have kids that are not pursuing careers in education, they can see first hand that there are jobs that demand less of one's time and have greater...

DH is cutting the hole in the sunroom wall to install the doggy door, possible now because the contractor finished our back staircase to the yard Sunday. We emptied out the lower level of our split level over the weekend, DH taking the last trip to Goodwill on Saturday afternoon. Yesterday he started prepping the walls for re-painting, and selected the carpet.

Monday, we found a stacked washer/dryer to fit into our hall linen closet. I made room for the linens, laundry, and dog towels...

Well, it looks like its been a few days since I last posted anything on this blogg, so, I reckon today is a good day to jot a few notes and what-nots down...

Nancy, your Mom arrived safely from Missouri last night, but, instead of getting here at 6:45pm, she didnt get in til about 10 something... My Wife and Sister in law, finally made it home about 11pm last night!

Why is it, when ever she flies, she is never on time LOL....
