Katie and a Man's Shirt

Posted 07-08-2012 at 08:53 AM by KatieGal

No one who reads my idiotic blog actually knows me so I'm going to bare my soul a bit. Anonymity allows such things.

I woke-up on this morning, Sunday morning, and as has been the case for about ten months now, I woke-up alone. Since I am a confirmed romantic, my mind traveled back to a morning about four years ago. At approximately 8AM on that day I awoke alongside a man whom I had been dating for a “sufficient amount of time”, and we would continue in a relationship for...

Sunday School - July 8, 2012

Posted 07-07-2012 at 12:06 PM by Albert Finch (How Do I Advance My Spiritual Life?)

Affirmation: The upward call of God draws me into the place of surrender, where I yield my being into His hands.

The Bible calls your potential (destiny) a treasure in earthen vessels. You must guard your visions and dreams from sin, discouragement, procrastination, failures, opinions, distractions, traditions and compromise. - Myles Munroe

In every quiet longing, you call Him. With even your inmost prayer, you ask Him to come near to you. Your true heart's desire is...

Bayou City Burger Bonanza Now Spreads Into North Texas

Posted 07-07-2012 at 09:12 AM by case44 (Welcome To Case's Column)

Texans love their hamburgers, and there's simply no getting around it. That's what we really like. Just when you thought certain places are tied only to one particular city, well, you'd best fasten your selt belts for a startling new revelation.

We've all seen in recent years how Dallas-based Burger House has branched out with one non-Dallas/Fort Worth area location: Lubbock. We've also seen how a California chain, In-N-Out, made its move into Texas with the...

Senior discount? But I'm only 48!

A few years ago, when I was just 48 years old, I lived out in the desert area of far west Texas. Just north of where I lived was the beautiful, yet rugged, Guadalupe Mountains National Park.

When I'd get days off from work, I'd pack a few things, get in my car and make the 70-mile drive to the park to hike some of the mountain trails.

Katie's Unhurried Thoughts

Posted 07-05-2012 at 08:23 PM by KatieGal
Updated 07-05-2012 at 09:26 PM by KatieGal

I had a pretty full schedule at work today so of course I overslept this morning. Consequently, I started the day scurrying around in a mad rush.

Now, many hours later, it occurs to me that during the course of an ordinary day, there are times when I hurry, and times when I do not. I will hurry to get out of the rain, or to catch an elevator. Sometimes I will hurry to get home just to turn on the TV and see some program that has my interest. Yesterday on my way to the store...
