Brain Dead -- Time to Not Study! 8|

Posted 07-20-2012 at 03:40 PM by LookinForMayberry

I wanted to finish my Cost Accounting homework today, so I could work on the Income Tax over the weekend. I've got two problems left to do -- huge problems. I got them set up in Excel -- and bonked. I cannot put one more number into one more record. I am kaput.

DH just brought Bigun home from the school where he threw the ball for him for over thirty minutes. It's rained all day, so that's going to be his exercise. I am curling up with my fantasy novel and retiring from the world...

DH had an early dinner so he could go out and drive properties. Tomorrow is the foreclosure auction, and the bids came out reasonable on two he's been tracking. He'll do a drive by to assess the house and neighborhood, trying to judge the resale value without seeing the inside, and then look for comparative homes to verify his assumptions. Moving from West Michigan to Minne or St.Paul

Posted 07-18-2012 at 06:23 PM by GreatLakesStateofMind

Hopefully someone can give me some insight on what's it like there. A few questions i need to be answered to start is, do the Twin Cities really feel isolated compared to living in Grand Rapids, Mi where Detroit is 2 1/2 hours away and Chicago is just 3 ? Is it a huge ajustment coming from MI to MN (hopefully someone who has made the move can give me some advice). Any feedback would be appreciated

Another Year Older, But Please Hold The Year's Supply Of Just For Men

Posted 07-18-2012 at 04:19 PM by case44 (Welcome To Case's Column)

This is a time of year where I eat more chocolate than most factories would produce. At least, if you take inventory in the last five days. Cookies and cakes coming at me like gangbusters, dinners with relatives, gift cards, to name a few, and you might not believe this, but the folks at work gave me not one, but two birthday cards. Am I that special??

Maybe I need to turn 46 more often. It's just not as sexy as 45, numberwise. I do thank all...

Posted 07-18-2012 at 08:05 AM by chet everett

While Illinois is in fact 4th in Technology & Innovation:

Technology & Innovation Rankings

This appears to be a subset of the main article: America's Top State for Business 2012

Very different view. That puts Illinois squarely in the bottom half of all states. Not good.

While I certainly wish that our state was better at creating jobs and given more people hope that they can at least maintain their quality of life the fact is...
