Posted 07-22-2012 at 10:49 AM by txtqueen

No matter what I say, it can be super good, SOMEONE always says something negative.

I realized I was being a raging *****, when I should be grateful that he has a good job, where he makes good money and realize that **** happens sometimes.

If I still had my job with the security place then two days a week I couldn't pick him up since I wouldn't be off till 11 and then on the weekend he either would have to get up early and take...

Sunday School - July 22, 2012

Posted 07-21-2012 at 01:26 PM by Albert Finch (How Do I Advance My Spiritual Life?)

Affirmation: I see myself with victory. I visualize where God wants me to be. Then, I act as if I am already there.

A person with a thankful heart is a person of great power. A thankful heart is a victorious heart, which sees victory in the face of defeat. - Victoria Boyson

Our calling and God's Kingdom are never stationary. We pull up the tent pegs of a limited and stationary way of thinking, and walk into our unfolding future. - Garris Elkins

Saturday Morning Musings

Posted 07-21-2012 at 09:18 AM by Urban Sasquatch

Today the weather has broken from the awful tedium of crushing heat and a smothering humidity which practically required one to employ scuba gear in order to go outside.

It's a lovely 75 degrees of non-humid wonderment here, although I can feel the temperature rising. Nevertheless the morning is absolutely gorgeous.

The boy and I both rose fairly early (a bit before 0800, yes I slept IN for once) while my so-called "spouse" has remained in bed, as is often...

Posted 07-20-2012 at 08:17 PM by case44 (Welcome To Case's Column)

There is a saying in Texas where if you don't like the weather, then wait a few minutes. And summer in Texas usually lends itself to only one thing: hot heat. Occasionally, though, you might encounter an event like the one I experienced.

This had to have been a last-minute forecast change, since no rain had even been predicted for my area outside of a wafer-thin chance. Clouds darkened up over the 102-degree parking lot at my apartment complex when the skies...

A Peachy Situation In Weatherford, Texas

Posted 07-20-2012 at 07:56 PM by case44 (Welcome To Case's Column)

Last weekend, I had decided to take it upon myself (after years of procrastination) to attend the annual Parker County Peach Festival in Weatherford, Texas. It was a hot Saturday afternoon, and had I not gone and done some extra work at the office that morning, I'd have gone then. That's not important at this juncture; we'll see what transpires next year.

Boy, was it hot out there! Upon arrival from a nearby school bus shuttle that transported this writer from...
