I-69 Update: Finally, Signs Go Up In Texarkana

Well, I can hear the echoes of the people in Northeast Texas: "It's about time!" The landscape of Texarkana's freeway network is changing ever so much more. Interstate 369 has finally made it into the fray and new signs are going up as I write this. And I thought they'd never go up, wondering what transportation officials were waiting for, but there they are. Granted, it is currently just a three-mile stretch, but later on, it will be part of a 118-mile segment...

For the distance it will take to travel from Dallas down to South Padre Island, the credit card at the gas pump will see some charges (probably more than I'd care to pay). And because of that sheer distance, some 580 miles, I'd have to also do some sleep layovers in Austin and San Antonio.

Face it, sports fans, your favorite blogger is not going to be staying at the Ritz-Carlton anytime soon. But the beauty of the Internet is this: You get to do more homework...

While this public relations travesty known as the arrangement between the Houston Astros, Houston Rockets, and Comcast and the juggernaut that is CSN Houston gets more messy by the second, there is some refreshing news. Some, anyway.
