Is it the content of my blog, is my prose lacking a certain amount of positive outlook, or is it even my lack of ability in using comma's correctly? HAHAHA I'm also curious because I will suddenly have two votes after days of no votes. Are the two of you discussing my blog in a PM and then choosing to vote at the same time? It is peculiar.

Apathy or grudge??

Posted 01-11-2014 at 12:46 PM by Chowhound

It seems like I've/we've had some rough times the last couple three yrs..... A lot of stuff that I don't want to get into all of the details, but bottom line, too many deaths as of late. The latest is Mrs. Chows brother passing.

It could be argued that his was a blessing by the time it came, but that is another bog entry.

All of this stuff lately has gotten me to thinking about my dad and my relationship with him. I say this because every time I hear the song cats in...

Strong Medicine At Texas? Let's Just Hope He Wins

Posted 01-11-2014 at 07:21 AM by case44 (Welcome To Case's Column)

Well, the ship needed to be uprighted in Austin, and the Texas Longhorns have a new head football coach. Mike Gundy? No. Nick Saban? No way; he's committed to Alabama until he retires. Art Briles? Forget about it. He's locked in at Baylor with a new stadium to be unwrapped in August.

Charlie Strong, come on down. You're the next contestant on the Texas Longhorn trail ride. And what a ride it could become.

Okay, new AD Steve Patterson's...

Reminiscing With The Everly Brothers, And We Miss Phil

Posted 01-11-2014 at 04:52 AM by case44 (Welcome To Case's Column)

There are times when I have to type things down, but you know I can't help it. Regarding said typing, this is one of those moments. Coffee mug next to the keyboard, and KOKE-FM out of Austin playing on my computer. Must be Saturday morning.

But this particular morning is a little different. Tom Allen of KOKE is taking time to remember Phil Everly, who passed away last week following a long career providing great harmony with his brother, Don (who still survives)....

One foot in front of the other

Typically I would never admit this. I take a lot of pride in being a macho kind of guy, but seeing how I'll never meet any of you, I'll share.

This morning I watched a movie called We Bought a Zoo, and I don't know if it was heightened emotions from yesterday or what, but it broke me down. I cried. I mean, I cried hard! The last time I remember letting actual tears drop was when my wife passed away. This morning though, I bawled like a little baby. It kind of manifested in...
