I joined my first little league baseball team when I was about 12. There were only 4 teams in our league and we finished in 2nd place. We were expected to finish in 3rd but the usual 2nd place team kept forfeiting because most of their players wouldn't show up and we were a lot better than the 4th place team which was made up of comical misfits.
