I Need Coffee

Posted 08-01-2014 at 06:12 AM by hunterseat (Keeping it Kind)

The pink and orange sign beckoned me. It had become a habit, turning into that donut shop every week when my job took me in this direction. Sometimes I even picked up a dozen donuts for the people where I was going. It starts with my not getting enough sleep and wanting a café latte. You know the story “as long as I’m here I’ll take one of those chocolate chip muffins”. Well, not this time. I didn’t need a muffin, I just needed a coffee. I’m not a big Duncan fan. I’m a big donut fan...

The freeway system in and around Austin, Texas, is, for the most part, a good system. There's just one problem: They get so much usage in key areas where a lot of area growth has taken place. East of town, State Highway 130 isn't getting too much traffic, as it is a toll road, but it's also a bypass around Austin's east side. The problem is mainly the west side of Austin.

Thankful Thursday 7/31/2014

Posted 07-31-2014 at 06:45 PM by jessxwrites89

Today I feel thankful for Aunt Kathy. She said she will help me with a mock interview for a 2nd job here as I wait for Wisconsin. This mock interview will help me feel comfortable in any situation, especially a phone interview for when the time comes. Yesterday I was speaking to my former coworker and I said, "It seems like now that I've changed locations to Wisconsin, more people want to help." She replied, "Yeah because Wisconsin is nicer and that was your original plan."...

My house

Posted 07-31-2014 at 10:59 AM by nooshb

I just closed on my house yesterday and unfortunately I won't be able to move there till next weekend. The seller is waiting on his own house to close. I'm not happy about that but there's nothing I can do about it.
We're staying at a hotel basically doing nothing because my job doesn't start until the 11th either. Meanwhile we're getting familiar with this area. I actually am happy to be here. Can't wait to get comfortable around here. The favorite beach here is the New Port Beach. I can't...

How to Minimise Construction & Demolition Waste

Posted 07-31-2014 at 05:21 AM by pol_bishop25

In the UK the construction and demolition industry generates more waste than any other sector. More than 100 million tonnes are created every year which is about one third of all UK waste. Great progress is being made in reducing the amount of waste that goes to landfill and increasing the level of recycling for construction waste removal. However there is still a long way to go. More than half of our waste still goes to landfill and it is thought that more than 80% of waste that could be recycled...
