Posted 04-27-2015 at 09:13 AM by info4yourlife2015

If you don't sleep like a baby any more, you're not alone. As we age, our brains change, which affects how we sleep. While many changes are normal, scientists think that helping older people sleep better may one day help rejuvenate brain functions like concentration and memory.

“Sleep patterns change as we get older,” explains Dr. Julie Carrier, a scientist with the Centre for Advanced Research in Sleep Medicine in Montreal. Many older adults go to bed and wake-up earlier, take...

It is encouraging to know that as many as half of all cancers in Ontario can be prevented by eliminating known risk factors.

Smoking, alcohol consumption, poor diet, and lack of physical activity are some of the more commonly known risk factors that can lead to cancer. There are also a number of lesser known risk factors that people should be aware of to reduce the chances, such as:

Seniors need to maintain and improve their confidence levels because it helps guard against health threats that often come with older adulthood.

A recent study out of Concordia University's Centre for Research in Human Development looked at changes to self-esteem over time. Realisation

Posted 04-26-2015 at 02:01 PM by Buzzybecca

So I haven't been going to the gym lately. My work schedule changed. I managed once or twice but that's it the last couple weeks. I didn't even weigh myself last Wednesday. I was scared that I packed on 5lbs which seems to happen when I slack. But when I weighed myself today I found that I lost 2 more lbs! It's not the 4 I was supposed to lose, but I'm so surprised. I'm nearing the weight I was when I first met my husband. 20 more lbs until I'm where I was in high school. That's the big milestone....
