On the work truck

Posted 07-25-2015 at 07:23 AM by Stymie13

Sitting in front of the job finished yesterday,
The work truck no longer wants to play.
So embarrassing as it is,
Must wait for the fuel pump to give.
Crank over and give us juice
Off to sweat, the work day noose.
At least tomorrow will be legit,
Coaching addicts is a better fit.
To share my experience both bad and good,
Helping others, my life's calling understood.

@thaxter that was ABSOLUTELY my favorite coffee shop ever!!..B&O cafe! I was sooo sad it closed and I think the building torn down for the expansion...

Before and after work

Posted 07-24-2015 at 07:16 PM by Stymie13

g on just one leg
With body out stretched.
May look silly
But not far-fetched.
Just a bit of yoga,
For a white bearded old man.
Doesn't keep me young
But does help me understand.
Concentration I put
So the body doesn't sway
Helps focus the mind and soul
Each and every day.

Have a good night world

Alexandra (2007), Aleksandr Sokurov ★★★★★

Posted 07-24-2015 at 06:48 PM by oeccscclhjhn (I've a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore.)

I was introduced to Aleksandr Sokurov by Mark Cousins' documentary, The Story of Film: An Odyssey, which mentions Russian Ark, my first Sokurov film, and Mother and Son (which I need to see!).

The story slowly unfolds; why are we riding this train? Is she in danger? Information is scarce, but you are filled in as her journey slowly reaches it's destination. Each scene is unmistakably shot by Aleksandr Sokurov, as you recognize the beauty and emotion - even from the inside of a tent....
