So back in 1993, when I started my first "real" job, I had a commute of 2 hours by train. It taught me some important lessons, including always have 2 ways to commute, and live as close as you can afford to your work.

After 2 months, I moved an hour closer, still allowing me to commute by train, but eliminating multiple switching of lines. My quality of life went up incredibly.
