Oh, the things that happen at work. Crazy things do happen. One incident today never left my mind.

It happened this afternoon when I was trying to give a drive assignment to a courier company. The phone rang on their end. I waited for their answer. Still ringing. End of phone call.

I made another call to the courier company. It rang several times, their telephone. There was no answer on this call.

This week, I've made more of a concerted effort to lose a few pounds. I've been spending a little more time on the exercise bike at the complex's fitness center, all the while thinking that I might lose just one pound.

During my time at the office, we have a scale in the dispatch center. I've been weighing myself every day, but I haven't really believed the figures. So I go to my appointment this morning at my endocrinologist, and they weighed me at 267. All...
