relocating from San Francisco CA to Tampa FL

Posted 07-16-2017 at 10:50 AM by Murphyandmolly

I am nervous about sinkholes, alligators, flat land, and high heat in Tampa. I do enjoy golf, paddleboarding, biking, hiking, outdoorsy stuff. I am concerned I will miss some of the great things about CA-hiking, landscape, wine country, downtown city life/culture.
Please share your experience with me in relocating to Tampa. Hidden costs of moving, costs buying home, costs...

Ideally we would like to find a nice neighborhood with decent schools, rent a house and within a year or two buy our own house in the same area. Our budget for buying a house is ~$250K. I will appreciate any advises

We've lost Lee Woodward back in June. He was 85 years old, but many years ago, he'd been a Tulsa institution, giving people the weather on CBS affiliate KOTV (Channel 6) for two decades,...

Where did Port Charlotte and North Port Come From??

Posted 07-16-2017 at 09:31 AM by llrivero

Have you heard people say... "OH THAT IS A GDC Home"... or back when GDC developed.... ??
Well, recently I had the pleasure of meeting the seller of one of the homes a fabulous buyer is purchasing...... and he just celebrated his 90th birthday. He was eager to share his life adventures with us and stories of his home. He told us how he came down from New York because he had heard that land was literally being given away in Florida. He traveled with his wife and they purchased an...

I sit here at this computer and wonder this: Why do we have to have a rebuttal speech after the weekly presidential address to America on the radio? Yes, I agree that both sides have to have a say, but I must tell you, the way things are going now, the Democrats' rebuttal (supposedly) of President Donald Trump's weekly addresses won't accomplish anything. In many ways, the way that it's presented, it defeats the purpose.

Have you been hearing these weekly speeches...
