Again, why can't men have friends that are women without having hopes or expectations of having sex with them? Isn't it possible for a man and a woman to have things in common without it getting physical? Can't a woman be a good conversationist and not just a sex object to be conquered? Aren't men and women dismissing half of the human race because of sex possibly getting in the way?

    That's going to depend on whether any kind of magic hits both parties. The things that are natural sometimes can't instantly be shaken off. Friendship needs to come first. Sometimes, you'll have two people that just, for whatever reason, hit it off and sense the attraction.
