Can't Find A Job? The Biblical Way

Posted 02-12-2017 at 07:18 AM by PoorInSpirit

You may be discouraging yourself when looking around and seeing the scarcity of jobs and better qualified applicants for those jobs than you are that you would be tempted to want to just plainly give up, but do try to remember this truth below.

Ecclesiastes 9:11 I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.

So when you get that job, even a small temporary job like doing something for your elderly neighbor, lean on Him to do this.

Ecclesiastes 9:10 Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.

So pray. The Lord may give you a thought in your head to do that small menial job that could lead you to a better paying job, but lean on the Lord to serve as an example that God will provide for our Father will take are of us, even to help us through the bad times when we are in need.

1 Timothy 6:6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

Do not be afraid to communicate your needs to the church. That is something you would want your wife & kids to do rather than suffer needlessly out of pride, and so you must do as well.

Philippians 4:10 But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at the last your care of me hath flourished again; wherein ye were also careful, but ye lacked opportunity.11 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.12 I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.14 Notwithstanding ye have well done, that ye did communicate with my affliction.

So when the budget is limited, let's do all things in moderation, and ask the Lord for the things we need, and give thanks for what you do have to keep our minds on positive things, and yes, we need the Lord's help to do that too.

Philippians 4:5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

Psalm 19:12 Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.13 Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.
