Time Fades

Posted 11-05-2014 at 10:20 PM by JoshB

It is November 5th, 2014. Almost Midnight actually. Where have the last 5 years gone?

It's been almost 5 years since my wife and I first met. We've had our ups and downs. God has really tested me and helped me figure out who I am.

Some days I feel tired and ready to give up. 2014 has been a tough year. My brother lost his fiancee who passed away in July. Losing her has taught me to move on and forgive because someday it may be too late to say "I'm sorry."

I lost my job in September and I actually felt a bit of relief, although it tested my ability to balance our budget with literally very little money coming in.

My step dad found out he had a cancerous tumor on his tongue and had surgery last week. He just went home yesterday. He begins chemo in a month. It's tough seeing him like this, he's one of the strongest people I know and he'd give the shirt off his back for anyone.

My relationship with my wife has been on the rocks. Due to a TBI she experienced from a car accident 10 years ago it's putting stress on our marriage. She's getting help. I feel tired and weak like I've been trying to keep the ship floating for too long. I love her to the moon and back but some days I feel like giving up because everything feels like too much.

I pray to God that 2015 is a much better year and that everyone is healthy.

Josh, I am very sorry to hear of all the burdens that have fallen on your shoulders. Just remember the words "this too shall pass" and that you will be a stronger person for having endured. My prayers are with you across the miles.

Hi, Josh, it's been many years since I've posted here, but I just ready your post, "Time Fades."

It reminded me of a quote that I read the other day: "Be strong because things will get better. It may be stormy now, but it never rains forever."

I'm so sorry to hear the hardships that you've been dealing with. Hoping that 2015 was a better year for you, and that 2016 will be an even better year.

    Thinking of you.
