Is the House Feng Shui-Friendly?

Posted 11-22-2014 at 10:13 AM by Condreyr

In Most states, a death in a home, no matter how it occurred, is not considered a "Material Fact" and it's not required to be disclosed. A murder could have occurred days ago and the seller does not have to let you know. A violent or bizarre death, can decrease the home's value by 25% or more and increase it's time to sell by up to 50% longer than comparable homes.

I have a different perspective on the subject of stigmatized and psychologically impacted properties. Yes, I agree that there are a few people who would love to buy a house where a murder occurred or is allegedly haunted, but I am presuming that there are more people who would not be interested.

I believe that most people do not even think about the subject when buying a home because they are assuming that it is a law to disclose that information and that the Realtor would tell them.

Personally, I would be comfortable to purchase a home where a peaceful death occurred, but I also understand that there are people who would not be. Now, if someone died peacefully and was not found for months in the home, I would have some concerns. I also do not want to own a home where a sudden violent death, murder or suicide occurred, but again I understand that some people would not mind at all.

The purpose of Diedinhouse.com is to help people who care to know, find out if a death occurred at an address before they decide to buy or rent it.

Even if you are not a believer in Feng Shui, just ask yourself, would you want to know that a murder, suicide or even a bizarre death occurred at
the property before or after you sign the contract? I am not asking how to feel about the information,
just simply would you want to be told before or after you invested your time and money.

If you care to know, you can get help finding out or verifying that the home is Feng Shui-Friendly by using the new Real-Estate Tool Diedinhouse.com.
