Hi boredboredteacher!
I am responding to your post on my thread asking about how to approach the school hunting process.
My situation in detail is this: I have one son left at home and he is currently a high school freshman, here in cincy, OH. My husband and I will be empty nesters when he is gone, and my husband is going to be working in the energy corridor (EC) area. We want to live within the beltway, and in a excellent public school district in the part of the beltway adjoining the EC.
What would you recommend? and how should we coordinate our search for schools and homes? Our budget is anywhere up to 700K for a single family home in a safe area, as close to the galleria areas as possible. We are also open to renting in a nice and safe area to begin with....
My son is an excellent student and a hard working kid, he is currently in honors and two years ahead in math. He was T&G thru middle school (CoGAT and IOWA is what they test the kids on here), although i am not sure how that would translate into the Houston school district.I am not necessarily looking for a T&G school but a good one with high college placement stats, AP offerings, and reasonable extracurriculars. He wants to study engineering after high school.
Well, I don't want to overwhelm you with details but that's the gist of it
thanks

You'd be best off sending that poster a direct message rather than using the lesser-populated blog pages. He'll get your message faster that way.
