Moving to Denver in May

I hope your move went smoothly (if you've already moved).
Me and my husband are planning to move to Denver in June (we lived in major cities in Europe but not yet in the US). We are not sport fans (we love outdoor activities and we are pretty active but just not fans of football and other sports...
I still wanted to ask you few questions if you have time to answer! 
You mentioned you've lived in SF. Could you tell us what are the + and - things about SF (What made you move from there?)
We, too, wanted to live in Seattle but because of the gray days and lack of sun, we decided on Denver.
I hope you found your place to stay. If so, what do you suggest? (we are on the same budget as you and we are looking for a 1 bedroom apt)
