I don't think that's the mainstream teaching. From what I can tell, the rebellion from the teaching is in the past. This means that it is a place of eternal torment for those who have rebelled against God. If what you say is what is really preached, I believe you have a solid logical argument about sin being the king.
That's not really why I comment. You didn't really explain what you believe eradication of sin is, and I am interested in your knowing your thoughts.
