Relocation: follow-up questions

Before arriving, it is my understanding that we need to obtain a local address to open bank account. If anyone has experience in these matters, I'm wondering whether a Post Office Box is a viable option (or a UPS account, as an alternative).
Since there are no national banks in Hawaii, we need to select a bank that will provide basic on-line services (accepting electronic deposits and making electronic payments) reliably and at reasonable rates. Anyone have suggestions?

The experience we had was, if you are trying to open an account with a credit union this is correct. With a local bank, like Bank of Hawaii this is not the case. You do how ever need to have an address to receive correspondence. You can get on line and get a PO Box off the postal website and once you arrive all you have to do is go by the post office to get the number and key.
