Relocating? Before you buy --

Posted 10-01-2013 at 04:41 PM by CFLpropmgt

Advice to those relocating: Don’t buy right away. I often see questions posted around the web saying something to the effect of, “I’ve got $40,000 cash to invest in a new home and am moving to Orlando; where should I buy a house?” Unless you are already familiar with the area, it is wise to bank your cash in a short term, liquid investment and rent for a year. This will give you time to become knowledgeable about the city and its various neighborhoods, suburbs and districts, get a feel for the school systems, major transportation networks and all the other things that can play a part in the quality of life in your new home. After feeling-out the area for a few months you can begin narrowing your search to homes that will meet your requirements in terms of size, price and location.
