HYPOTHYROIDISM...Without Competent Medical Treatment...Even thoughI have had Doctors....

Posted 01-05-2010 at 11:39 AM by idesignsi

I have had Hypothyroidism for Almost 14 Years...I occured 5 months after the birth of my second child and recovery from Late Chicken Pox...I was 28 the first time I had them...Needless to say it took the Military Doctors 6 months to diagnose me and regulate my synthetic TH factor...Since then my levels have fluctuated anywhere from 125mcg to 250 mcgs. Twice my thyroid has crashed out and left me virtually paralyzed even while on a regular synthetic medication. I am currently recovering from the last crash...I have many unexplained symptoms and have been treated for everything from "soft" bipolar to migraines with stroke like features in the past many years....

I just recently discovered a book Called "The Thyroid Solution" by Dr. Arem, and I am so angry that NOT ONE of the DOCTORS I have seen in the past 14 years have ever shared any of this data with me. It wasn't until 2006 that I was even sent to an Endocrinologist.....In the mean time I have been the human guinea pig of Medication.....

So I ask with GREAT Faith for Feedback, honesty, medical referral, natural medicine referral and absolutely any and all information I can be given.....Thank you so much....

Additionally I will state I have no additional Medical Diagnosis other than Hypothyroidism and a RECENT diagnosis of a Hiatal Hernia.

Thank you so much from Eastern North Carolina....

Wow! I am so sorry to hear of your experience.
I was Hyperthyroid until this past April, I had to have a total thyroidectomy and now I will be hypothyroid for life.
A great book to read is "Living Well With Hypothyroidism- What Your Doctor Doesn't Tell You..That You Need To Know" --by Mary J Shomon
My Endocrinologist recommended it to me.
How are you feeling now? And what do you mean by "thyroid crashes"?
