Tacoma or Seattle Help Me Find My Final Home

I am retired and an AF Disabled Veteran who is trying to find her final home. I currently live in Orlando FL. It's too hot and too conservative, it is a bit diverse, but not enough. I lived in Idaho for a while and visited Seattle a few times and loved it, but that was over 10 years ago. The question is; Is this the place for me. And is it Seattle or Tacoma, or a place close enough to Seattle to get there to shop, for festivals, etc. I have a fixed income, but a good income. I need to be within driving distance of a VA Clinic or Hospital. I would need to rent a 3 bedroom house for no more that $1100; must allow pets and smoking (I know, I know, bad for me, but its my one vice in life.) Also, once set up, my son (musician (reggae)) and his family (son has Austism) and my daughter (nurse) plan to relocate too. Any and all advice welcomed!
