Family Relocating to Denver

Posted 02-21-2013 at 07:21 PM by Fivewalkers

I know there are a lot of posts on here from people looking for advice on moving to Denver but I am going to have to add one more! We are a family of five that will be relocating to the Denver area from Pennsylvania in June. We have made two trips out to tour the area, look at homes and schools etc. We have 3 children ages 15, 11 and 7. I would welcome any feedback on the best family friendly areas of the greater Denver area. From our own searching we are currently interested in Parker, SE Aurora, Broomfield/Louisville area, Golden and possibly Arvada (I know Highlands Ranch is a big family area but we found it a bit too congested and it is presently not at the top of our list). Schools are top priority with the high school being the driving factor given the ages of our older two. We are an outgoing family and enjoy socializing, definitely looking for a community that is fun, laid back and family oriented. One of my biggest questions is how does the Broomfield/Louisville and even Golden area compare to the Parker and SE Aurora area? Is there a big difference in the weather patterns between the two areas? I know Golden the temps run a little bit cooler than the city, any other differences? We are so looking forward to lots of sunny days after living in dreary PA for the last 6 years (lived in Atlanta prior to coming to PA). I would welcome all comments as we are still learning the area and will be back out in April to hopefully nail down a house. We aren't set on any type of house or anything yet, more concerned with identifying the right area before zeroing in on homes. Thanks in advance for your help!

Well, if you're already on this site, you should be able to look for the U.S. forums. It should be one of the first things you see after you log in. There's a forum for (in your case) Colorado, and you go to that area and you'll see some sub-forums which include Denver. That would be the one you'd want to go to.
