Kannapolis NC, to Rock Hill SC commute?? 85 to I-77?

I am thinking about moving to Kannapolis NC as my husband just got a position there. I however work in Rock Hill SC. I do not know the area of Kannapolis at all. So this is a two part question.
1. If anyone knows anything anout the area they can tell me i would love to hear about it. How is it there, things to do, schools, etc?
2. Does anyone know abot the commute. I looked up on google maps and saw that the majority of my commute would be on I-77 (43 miles). How is the traffic flow on that highway? Would I need to plan alot of extra time for the commute?
