RAISING A BOY ALONE , NO FATHER FIGURE AROUND. HOW CAN A GOOD WOMAN TEACH A YOUNG BOY HOW TO BE A MAN WITHOUT MAKING HIM TO SOFT?

My guess would be to let him be in a community (with you) and other grown men that have the values, morals, and integrity you would hope to mirror onto him as his mother without having the harsh OR stern, disciplinary both at the same time, 24/7. It kind doesn't leave room for the part that is, by neccessity going to give him exactly what he needs to be a strong, but soft-hearted man one day.
It is a pipe dream, of the formally thwacked out, disillusionary minds of a society just crawling out of it's infancy into a calm and more stable chapter of how to live life. But alas, the same old broken record just keeps playing, repeating patterns w/o change or extending a loving hand and then ripping it away; that is in my (infinately wise opinion) the cause of our young boys not becoming the strong, healthy young men they deserve the chance to be and let me just say from personal experience as a healthy, vibrant and maybe overly nurturing at time's single mom of a dashing and lovable young boy, that my soft spots are almost all gone from being the ONLY ONE to show up and stay for the job that literally sucks the life out of you, temporarily at times anyway, but also gives great credit to any temp. loss, 10 fold in the end. And if your lucky enough to meet someone that has is not wanting to be there out of pity, but rather Love or Compassion, as a friend first and foremost.

OR you can send him to the toughest military Academy at a young (ROTC) age. Martial Arts probably would have saved my mom and stepdad a few unecessary bouts in the early days when I was "ANYTHING BUT SOFT".
