Baseball Players Needed Immediately for 29+ baseball team
The Austin Outlaws, and the Austin Baseball League, are still looking for players.
We practice every Saturday at 1PM at Govalle Park in Austin at 5200 Bolm Road.
We also have games and/or scrimmages on Sundays--depending on how many players come out.
In addition to our Saturday practice on Nov 17, 2012, the Outlaws had the equivalent of a live scrimmage on Sun Nov 18, along with players from another team. Though there wasn't an official game, attendees did bat off of live, full-speed pitching under game-like conditions. Players in attendance each got 15-25 swings off game-type, full-speed pitching. Everyone was very happy with the practice we got, including members of the other team. Due to a lower than expected turnout, we played the equivalent of workup instead of a game, except batters got 15-25 swings at a time, instead of isolated single at-bats. We used brand new Diamond baseballs the whole time. Surprisingly, we had an abundance of pitchers, more than enough for game-type hitting practice for all.
The Outlaws will have an optional practice Saturday, Nov 24, 2012, at 1PM at Govalle Park--at 5200 Bolm Road in Austin. Since this is Thanksgiving weekend, we expect a lighter turnout than usual. Frank & Mike will be there, as will our 2-member fan club--Grace & Cindy. Our fan club will also be bringing hot dogs & German sausages for barbeque, along with Grace's famous potato salad.
On the baseball side, Mike will bring the infamous Juggs pitching machine for batting practice. As usual, anyone interested in playing baseball is welcome to participate in the practice (and wiener roast). Friends & family are also welcome.

Baseball-Austin Outlaws STILL Need 29 & over players

The Austin Outlaws, of the Austin Baseball League, practiced again Sat, Nov 24, 2012 at Govalle Park in Austin at 5200 Bolm Rd.
The turnout was lighter than we had hoped for, but we were able to sign up 2 new players.
The Outlaws still need at least 6 more players for the team.
The Austin Baseball League itself needs at least another 30 players, but there is no maximum limit on the number of players. We want to have as many teams as possible.
Everyone that comes out for the Austin Baseball League will be put on a team, regardless of ability.
For the time being, everyone that comes out for the Outlaws team will make the team, regardless of ability. This will continue until the Outlaws have at least 14 committed players.
We practice, scrimmage, or play every Saturday at 1PM at Govalle Park at 5200 Bolm Road in Austin. (We also play on Sunday if we think we'll have enough players for a game, or can find another team that wants to play us.)
If you see players on the field at Govalle wearing the distinctive Outlaws hat,
you're welcome to come on out and play some baseball with us.
Anyone 29 & over is welcome and encouraged to come out and play for the Outlaws or another team in the Austin Baseball League. Anyone that just wants to come out and practice with us is welcome as well.
Desire to play is the only requirement.

I forgot to mention that we'll be out at Govalle Park again on Saturday, Dec 1, 2012 at 1 PM.
We're now considering moving our practices to Sundays instead of Saturdays, since that's when we plan on playing league games.
